The Dutch Blockchain Hackathon will take place on February 10, 2017. Several pre-hackathon meetups are planned in preparation for the hackathon weekend. The first meetup took place on 10 November at ING’s head office in Amsterdam.

This first meetup served as an introduction to the ecosystem of the blockchain world, from the perspective of companies and organizations. It was a good time to get to know the parties involved. Various speakers gave their views on the role of blockchain technology in various sectors.

The ” Blockchain, beyond the hype ” panel was interesting. Here, Erik Jonker (Digi Commissioner), Jacob Boersma (Deloitte) and Jouke Hofman (Bitonic), together with Rutger van Zuidam, discussed the various drivers behind the current blockchain buzz and what the expectations/hopes are for the future.
