Reproduction is when two axes create a new offspring. Each Axie can be climbed up to 7 times. If the Axie has not yet created offspring, the number of races is 0/7. An axie with a run count of 0/7 is called a Virgin Axie. fewer the number of runs, the more valuable the Axie will be.
This publication covers the following information:
- Raising costs
- How to breed
- Genes
- Mutations
- Body patterns
- Morphing
- Breeding methods (loops)
1. Reproduction costs
Raising costs 4 AXES and a certain amount of Mild Love Potions (SLP), depending on the number of Axias races. number of races is the number of times Axie has already produced offspring. higher the number of races, the more SLP you will need to play again.
table below shows the amount of SLP you will need based on the Axie breed count.
This means that if you have an Axie with a race number of 2/7 and an Axie with a race number of 3/7, the total costs of reproduction are 4 AXS and 1200 SLP.
Soft love potions can be earned by playing the game. You can earn them in Arena or Adventure cara. Check out this guide on how to grow SLP.
2. How to breed
Go to your inventory and select the first Axie you want to use. Select or ‘Race’ option.
A new window will open where you can select the second Axie for your career:
Choose the second Axie for your inventory and click “Let’s upload!” You will receive a message to confirm the race, and after a few seconds, the egg will be in your inventory.

3. Genes
Each Axie has 6 body parts, as well as a body shape. For each part, an Axie has 3 genes. A dominant (D), recessive (R1) and minor recessive (R2) gene.
dominant gene is the one that determines the part of the body that is physically present in the Axie. When reproduced, each gene has the potential to be passed on to offspring:
- Dominant (D): 37.5% probability of transmitting this gene to offspring.
- Recessive (R1): 9.375% probability of transmitting this gene to offspring.
- Minor recessive (R2): 3.125% probability of transmitting this gene to offspring.
You can use this calculator to find the probabilities when breeding 2 axes.
You can view genes in the Axie marketplace using this extension built by one of the community members, Freak.
4. Mutations
re is a 10% chance that each of the 12 recessive genes will become a completely random part, not inherited from either parent; this is what we call mutation.
Each gene mutation has no effect on the chances that any other gene will mutate. dominant parts of an Axie cannot be mutated. This means two 100% re is a 32% (~ 1/3) chance that there are no mutations (100% of parents, producing 100%) and a 68% (~ 2/3) chance of one or more mutations. It is also possible for non-pure Axies to mutate into 100% pure (albeit rare) Axies. It is unlikely that there are more than 6 mutations in a breed, so here are the odds of up to 6 mutations:
- 0 mutations: 28.24% probability
- 1 mutation: 37.66% probability
- 2 mutations: 23.01% probability
- 3 mutations: 8.523% chance
- 4 mutations: 2.131% probability
- 5 mutations: 0.379% probability
- 6 mutations: 0.049% probability

5. Body patterns
shafts have different types of body patterns. Check out my guide on what makes Axies unique to learn more about these patterns. Parents determine what body pattern their Axie will get. re are formulas that can be used to create certain patterns:
6. Morphing
After breeding, you will receive an egg in your inventory. This egg can transform into an adult later. 5 days.
7. Reproduction methods
Siblings cannot be raised. This means that if two parents are used to raise multiple Axies as offspring, those offspring cannot be used to breed with each other.
To counteract this problem, you can use Breeding Loops. Reproductive loops are strategies to reproduce for infinite generations starting with just 3 or 4 axes. re are two main approaches: Loop ABC (3-axis) and Loop ABCD (4-axis), as well as a way to go from ABC -> Loop ABCD.
A more visual representation of the ABC method is:
